A young science teacher in Hillsboro, S.C., reads to his students from Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. The teacher is subsequently arrested and put on trial. What follows is a drama filled with intelligence, wit, romance and genuine courtroom suspense. The play, which has its genesis in the events of the famous Scopes ~ Monkey trial of 1925, pits the teaching of Creationism against the teaching of scientific fact.
