The Humans tells the story of the quintessential family reunion: a group of people who love each other but still wrestle with basic human fears.

Filled with equal parts humor and hurt, this play won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play, a 2016 Obie Award for Playwriting, the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Blake clan have gathered for Thanksgiving at the new apartment of daughter Brigid and boyfriend Rich in lower Manhattan. Erik and Deirdre Blake, and Erik's mother Momo, have travelled from their home in Scranton PA, and daughter Aimee from her Philadelphia condo. Over the course of an awkward and frequently hilarious meal, the family members' fears, insecurities, disappointments and existential crises erupt in this very relatable and very human family drama.
